Anil Kumar SG
Founder and CEO
Anil has received awards/recognitions from several forums, including the Best Social Entrepreneur in the Global Social Entrepreneurship Programme 2018; the TiE Impact Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2013; Real Leaders Impact Award 2020 (ranked 83 in top 100) and the ET Social Enterprise Start-up award in 2020. Anil is also on the task force for CII on Agri Start-ups and FICCI on Minimizing Food loss and Wastage.
Anil has close to three decades of experience in the areas of Rural, Retail and Agri Banking. Anil’s professional journey has lent him an understanding of Indian smallholder farmers. Prior to Samunnati, Anil was the Co-Founder & Trustee of IFMR Trust and the CEO of IFMR Rural Channels. Anil holds a Masters in Management from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Symbiosis Institute of Management, Pune and a graduate degree in Humanities from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Anuj Narang
Group Business Head
Anuj Narang is the Group Business Head of Samunnati, India’s largest enterprise. With around 25 years’ experience in P&L management, Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Budgeting and Strategic Planning in the Commodity and Consumer space, Anuj was managing an entrepreneurial venture as a Consultant & Investor based out of Singapore. He was focussed on consulting with leading FMCG companies and offering risk management services for Supply Chain & Procurement. In the past, Anuj has been associated with Engelhart Commodities Singapore, Czarnikow Group and ITC Foods. His expertise lies in managing businesses in both Indian as well as international markets.
Gurunath N
Executive Director
Gurunath N is the executive director of Samunnati, India’s largest agri-tech enterprise. With over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services space, Gurunath has also worked at Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank and ICICI Bank. He is responsible for all operational aspects of Samunnati as well as some of the key support functions like Business Performance of Samunnati Financial (Lending). He is also on the Board of Samunnati. As the Executive Director, he engages and builds long-term relationships while ensuring the culture and values of Samunnati are in place.
Lalit Malik
Group CFO
Lalit has 28 years of global experience in strategy, finance, analytics, design and development of processes/ systems and commercial functions. His career includes a 7-year stint in GE Capital and a 11- year stint with Royal Enfield.
Lalit was one of the architects in Royal Enfield’s journey of success over the last 11 years where the brand’s revenue grew from Rs. 600 cr to Rs. 8000 cr; profitability (EBIDTA) grew from 6% to an industry leading 34%, market capitalization grew from 3000 cr to 55000 cr. During the last decade, Royal Enfield was the poster boy of wealth creation in public market. He has won many awards for exemplary finance and investor management. Prior to joining Samunnati, he was the Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Enfield handling all brand related activities, global sales and marketing.
He has also worked in AIG Consumer Finance, Ernst and Young and Max India.
Pravesh Sharma
Director – Samunnati Agro
Mr. Sharma joined the Board of Samunnati’ Agro in May 2021. He was the founder-CEO of Kamatan, an agri-tech start-up launched in 2018 to create an inclusive supply chain by integrating farmers with markets. Kamatan works with various stakeholders of the agriculture value chain including farmers, FPOs, Mills and Agri-Enterprises. It is now a group company of Samunnati. Praveshji is also the Chair of the Steering Group of the National Association of Farmer Producer Organisations (NAFPO), a platform created to build awareness for issues related to FPOs. He also writes extensively on issues of agriculture, rural development, and rural finance.
He was an alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, Master’s degree in History (1976-1981), and was selected to the Indian Administrative Service in 1982. He served for over 20 years in Madhya Pradesh in projects relating to food and agriculture, rural finance and natural resources management and then went on to serve for 3 years in the Prime Minister’s Office between 1999 and 2001.
Sridhar Easwaran
Head – Samunnati Foundation
With 35 years of experience across operations, project management and risk management in the banking industry, Sridhar has worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and HDFC Bank.
