This International Women’s Day, Samunnati is collaborating with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for a 24-hour hackathon designed exclusively for girl students, aimed at encouraging innovation in the agricultural ecosystem through technology-driven solutions.
At Samunnati, we work closely with Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and agri-enterprises across the agricultural value chain, enabling access to finance, markets, and knowledge that strengthen the rural economy. Initiatives such as this hackathon reflect our continued efforts to encourage technology-driven thinking and new ideas that can support the evolving needs of agriculture.
Scheduled from 11:00 AM on March 7th to 11:00 AM on March 8th at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), the hackathon will bring together around 100 student participants who will work intensively to build Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) addressing real-world challenges in agriculture.
The event will focus on three key themes that are highly relevant to the evolving needs of the agri ecosystem:
- Intelligent Decision Models for Smart Agriculture
- AI-Enabled Agricultural Lending & Financial Services
- Region-Aware Smart Farming Recommendations
Participants will leverage publicly available datasets and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and data analytics to develop practical solutions that can enhance farm productivity, improve access to finance, and enable region-specific agricultural insights.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to encouraging young women innovators to apply technology to solve challenges in agriculture and supporting the development of sustainable agri-ecosystems.
